What is an Enhanced Press Release?
Through a special arrangement with Yahoo!, PrimeZone can deliver photos or other graphics to Yahoo! for inclusion with your news release on the Yahoo! Finance Website. With this service, your photos or graphics will be permanently attached to your news release and displayed in the body of the news release text. When visitors to the Yahoo! Website read your news release, they will see the photo or graphic integrated with the text.

What is included in an Enhanced Press Release?
The basic Enhanced Press Release ("ePR") includes a photo or graphic, and up to three lines of text.  The three lines of text can include links to other Webpages, and are typically used to guide the reader to your Website for further information.

In addition, you can include a small company logo, which will appear just above the photo or graphic.  Also, if your photo is fairly large, a smaller version of the photo can be included in the news release, with the larger version accessible by clicking on the small photo.  We call this option a Thumbnail-HiRes pair.

Are there any limits to the size of the photo or graphic?
The size of the photo or graphic cannot be larger than 300 x 250 (300 pixels wide by 250 pixels high).  The file size cannot be larger than 15K bytes.  The accepted file types are GIF, JPEG and PNG.  If you provide photos or graphics that are larger than these limits, our Multimedia Team will resize and/or crop your image to fit the guidelines.  We will always send you a confirmation email displaying the photo or graphic, so you can review the image after it has been resized.

What if my graphic is too large?
If your graphic is larger than 300 x 250, or the file size is larger than 15K bytes, just send us the file anyway.  Our Multimedia Team will resize the graphic to fit within the limits indicated above.  In fact, the best type of file to send us is a large, high-resolution photo.  We can then create both small photos and a high-resolution photo (if desired) from the same source file.

If the width and height of your photo is within the specified limits, but the file size is too large (i.e., more than 15K) we can make a smaller file with the same dimensions.  We will always send you a confirmation email displaying the photo or graphic, so you can review the image after it has been resized.

Can the graphic include an animation?
Yes. You can develop a Flash Movie that can be used in place of a photo or graphic.  This option can give your news release more attention through the use of animation.  The constraints are as follows: maximum duration of 10 seconds, looping is allowed, file size is limited to 30K bytes, maximum size of 300 x 250 (same size limits as a photo or graphic).

What can be included in the three lines of text?
The three lines of text that appear beneath the photo or graphic are used for two purposes: as a caption and to provide links to your Website.  The caption is optional, but when it is used, the text representing the caption will appear centered, immediately beneath the photo or graphic.  The second and third lines of text will then appear as bullets under the caption.  If a caption is not used, then up to three lines of text will be displayed as bullets.  The following options are available:
  • No caption or bullets
  • A caption, plus one or two bullets
  • One, to three bullets

The caption cannot include a hypertext link, but any or all of the lines displayed as bullets can include one hypertext link. When you send us instructions, please tell us what word or words should be used as the hypertext link (i.e., with words should be "clickable").

Will photos or graphics used in a Yahoo! ePR also be posted on NewsLink?
Yes, if your news release includes a Yahoo! ePR photo or graphic, that same photo or graphic will automatically be added to the news release displayed on your Website via PrimeZone's NewsLink service.

What is the setup "lead" time?
You should try to send us the photos and/or graphic 24 to 48 hours before you plan to issue your news release.  In many cases, we can get everything set up in a few hours, but it is best to give us at least 24 hours' notice so everything goes smoothly.

What is the price?
This service is provided free of charge when you purchase the PrimeZone USA distribution circuit for the news release which is $395 for the first 500 words plus overage rate of $125 per 100 words.
If you purchase any other circuit, you can add an ePR for just $200.
